As a Filmmaker
I was young when YouTube came about and was enamored by the idea of being able to create and share my own videos. I borrowed my parents’ old camera and was off to the races. Although those early videos may have lacked some quality, they still taught me how use a camera, edit films, and more importantly, taught me that I could use these skills to create anything. Years later I am still following that inspiration and creating a wild array of films such as the award winning short films Doors and Scoped Out, the Emmy nominated Photo Essay, That’s Art Now, and my first feature (currently in post-production) Margaret & The Alien.
That’s Art Now
I had an incredible opportunity to work with TV-10 News and artist Herb Eaton to create this Photo Essay. I spent multiple days interviewing Herb, learning about his processes, views on art, and his jumps into a new generation of creativity.
Margaret & The Alien
Filmed during the unprecedented COVID-19 Pandemic, Margaret & The Alien is my first feature film. It follows the story of a lonely empty nester, who ends up befriending a being from out of this world. Made on far less than a shoestring budget, this film is a testament to the passion of the actors and crew, who overcame many obstacles to create a safe filming environment and great independent film. Margaret & The Alien is currently in post production.
Scoped Out
Scoped Out was created as part of an At-Home 48 hour Film Fest. Co-Writer/Director, Miles Strong-Austin, and I were tasked to create a short in 48 hours without leaving our homes and breaking Lockdown. The short is a silly adventure of a assassination gone awry, and features an incredible score by Eileen Marie Moore. Scoped Out has since gone on to feature in numerous festivals.
Doors
The first of multiple collaborations with Miles Strong-Austin, Doors a short film like no other. Inspired by indie Horror films, Doors tells the wild story of a teenage house party that goes horribly wrong when the doors come a live and attack! Doors has featured in numerous film festivals and won Bronze at The Horror Movie Awards.
